European funding

The European Union offers a range of funding opportunities in a variety of topics. This section aims to help NGOs in the Mediterranean identify the EU financial instruments that are most relevant for marine management and conservation projects in the region.

European Structural and Investment Funds: European Marine and Fisheries Fund

The EMFF is the fund for the EU's maritime and fisheries policies for 2014-2020. It is one of the five European Structural and Investment (ESI) Funds which complement each other and seek to promote a growth and job based recovery in Europe.

ENI-CBC MED: European Neighborhood Instrument Cross Border Cooperation Mediterranean Programme

The multilateral cross-border cooperation "Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme" is part of the new European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and of its financing instrument (European Neighbourhood Instrument - ENI). The Programme aims at reinforcing cooperation between the European Union (EU) and partner countries regions placed along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness.
